Author, Speaker, Educator

Sarah Werner is an ordained minister in Mennonite Church USA with a PhD in Religion from the University of Florida. She has spent the past decade guiding audiences large and small towards a deeper connection with God and
the natural world through spiritual practices of embodiment and radical self-care.
Whether it is a weekend workshop, small group discussion or as a keynote speaker, Sarah draws on her wide variety of lived and professional experiences including her time as a research scientist with the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, various ministry settings, her work as a theological educator, and as a disabled person to create deep and meaningful experiences for audiences across the country.
As an experienced keynote speaker, workshop leader and presenter, Sarah can tailor her engagements to a wide variety of audiences, both religious and secular ensuring that your goals are met and your audience is left feeling grounded and with a deeper understanding of their place in a world increasingly disconnected from the earth. Possible topics include: creation care in the Bible, embodiment and radical self-care, embodiment with people with disabilities, Sabbath practice, science and religion, and ethical decision-making in the midst of the climate crisis.
Sarah is also available to lead book discussions or lectures on her breakout book, Rooted Faith: Practices for Living Well on a Fragile Planet, Herald Press, 2023.
